New Cut and Color!

So, I got my haircut (first time since Vegas) and highlighted a dark auburn. It looks redder in the pics than in person. I always have the stylist straighten my hair so I can change it up for a couple days and when I can't stand it anymore I'll wash it and my afro will be back! I won't know if I like my cut until then! FINGERS CROSSED! Sorry for the self-portraits :)

VIP!

Each week, each class at JPS (Johnson Primary School) elects a VIP! This week Ava was chosen by her teacher which makes it double special since it's also her b-day on Thurs.! Her friend Gracie was also chosen this week from her class! All week they get to do special things and on Fri. we get to have a special breakfast with them! This morning they received a certificate and pencil :) WOO HOO!

On Wednesdays Ethan doesn't have school, so we do FUN things! We've been going to a ceramics class for a month and now we started a "Silly Snacks" class! (I need to take pics of ceramics) Last week his class got to go on a field trip to the fire station and he loved it!

Ava and Ethan in their first triathlon!

While Jason is away at AP Hill, VA training for his next deployment :( I signed the kids up for a "kid-friendly" triathlon here on base! It was free and fun! Instead of swimming they biked a mile, ran a mile, ran an obstacle course and biked another mile back! Ethan started off the race great, but................... after a few mins as I was walking to my car to meet them at the track I found him heading back, as he was "too tired" LOL! To his defense though, I lied and said he was 5, he was the smallest one there AND just learned to ride a two-wheeler last month! Ava completed the race and came in 53rd :) I know, I know, I've got some athletes on my hands - LOOK OUT! Her friend Gracie came in 3rd place for their age group! GO GRACIE!

Ethan and Zevi!

Today is my "catch up on blogging day" I have been sooooo busy these days! Last year I was pretty much an absent Mom while Jason was in Iraq trying to work and pay off debt, so this year I'm making up for lost time! I joined the PTA and signed up for EVERY comittee, so I am now taking candids for yearbook, helping with the Fall Festival, popping popcorn one Fri. a month, organizing school tee-shirts, etc. I also help out in Ava's class every Tues. and Ethan's every Thurs. On Mon. Wed. and Sat. we have soccer and every other Tues. is Brownies. On Wed. Ethan doesn't have school so we signed up for a 6 week ceramics class together. It's also my goal to get into the gym M-F for an hour a day AT LEAST! I've never been so busy! I think last year might have been easier! THANK YOU MOM AND LINDSEY SOOOOOOO MUCH! UGH! Anyway, I thought these pics of Ethan and his friend (our neighbor), Zevi were cute :) Mazel Tov!

Ok, my neighbor is awesome! I love her! Her name is Miriam and she is an Orthodox Jew (perhaps my new and 4th religion in this life! HA) Anyway, she was over while I was cleaning out the garage and we came across this Burqa from Iraq that Jason sent to me! We thought it would be fun to dress up and pretend the Jews and Muslims could get along, but then got out of control and couldn't stop laughing! We thought about sending out Holiday cards with the peace-fingers photo saying "Can't we all just get along?" Sorry if this offends you - GET OVER IT!!

New B-day Clothes from Aunt Kelly!

THANK YOU KEL!!!!!!!!!!! They were in desperate need of fall/winter clothes after spending a year in Vegas! I'll post them as they wear them - too cute! You rock cuz!

Ethan's New Room! (almost finished)

I didn't want to wait and post Ethan's room since he hasn't gotten his own post :) The only thing we have left to do it paint and hang things on his walls, but he does LOVE his room too!

SURPRISE!!!!

While Ava was gone last weekend camping with her Brownie troop, we surprised her with a NEW ROOM! He old furniture was too big and had just a few scratches from the multiple moves and storage, etc. Plus, we wanted her to have a desk for homework! We painted one accent wall pink, but I still need to hang pics or her name in wooden letters over her bed. She was VERY surprised and LOVES it! Most of you know that I made the quilt out of alllllllllll of her baby clothes! YES! I CUT THEM ALL UP! hee hee :) (Ps. the boy in the pic is our neighbor)

Another Fireballs Post!

Saturday's game was AWESOME! Ava scored a goal and her friend Gracie scored too! We won 4-0 and so far have only lost one game all season! They also had soccer pics taken and Ava's came out so cute :)
